Search for Life
I had no fear and knew my path.
My days were clear — untouched by wrath.
My life was bright and void of sorrow,
In sheer delight, I’d seek the morrow.
And then, one day, a brightness came.
It went its way, but left its pain.
Before its splendor, and in its might,
I dared surrender — and drowned my light.
So now, in twilight, I stand alone.
My search for sight is all I own.
I’ll find the splendor which outshone me;
No more a pretender, I search to See.
I’ll learn to cope in every way,
I live and hope for that one day:
When I shall find my life’s true Source.
No longer blind, I’ll live Love’s force.
