Loneliness kills
The spirit within.
An aching that fills,
Death’s counterfeit twin.

Scar tissue masks
My sweetness and light.
My spirit asks
Reprieve from this fight.

This hateful corruption
Of life’s sweet intent.
A fatal disruption,
Relentless torment.

I pray for the strength
To find my way out.
To travel the length
And survive this Drought…
